A Message From Whitney Reis

I became a Big Sister because of my love for kids, and interest in positively impacting someone's life. I was matched with Lexy- a fun-loving and spirited 11 year old! Our time together is spent staying active and finding new fun things to do together! We enjoy riding bikes, ball games, movies, shows, playing at the park, and walking along the river! Each time together we learn something new about each other, and are always looking forward to the next!! I am fundraising $1,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters to go "Over The Edge" ..rappelling 17 stories down the Westin Hotel in Downtown Cincinnati. (Full details on the event are listed at the bottom of this page) This event will challenge me, and set a good example for Lexy of conquering obstacles! Anything is possible! We create life-changing friendships by matching adult mentors with  at-risk Tri-State children in need of positive role models.  We partner with parents and guardians, volunteers and others in the community, and hold ourselves accountable for each child in our program. Statistics show these Little Brothers and Sisters have higher aspirations, greater confidence, do better in school and avoid risky behaviors.
