A Message From Jonel Gray

Let's just start with giving back feels great. How do I know? Well, this summer I finally went forward with getting matched with a Little Sister through Greater Cincinnati Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS). My Little Sister DeAsia and I have had some great experiences together in the last few months, many of them "firsts" for her and some firsts for me as well. This fall we carved Asia's first Jack-O-Lantern! This program has already had such a positive influence on my life that I want to support it even more. Seeing the potential of my Little Sister makes me determined to step further out of my comfort zone to contribute to BBBS. That is why I'm participating in their Defend With Me Campaign. In this campaign, Bigs set a fundraising goal and reach out to friends, family and co-workers to help them reach that goal. To support one match for one year, the cost is $1200. That's just a $10 donation from 120 people or 24 people donating $50. What an amazing way to celebrate my thankfulness for my match by helping make one more! The project begins this week and ends December 23rd. I don't like to ask people for things, but I truly believe in this organization and $10 is basically foregoing 2 fancy coffees from Starbucks. So, thanks in advance for your support, and please join me in feeling great about growing potential in the next generation through Greater Cincinnati BBBS!

In Support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati
We create life-changing friendships by matching adult mentors with  at-risk Tri-State children in need of positive role models.  We partner with parents and guardians, volunteers and others in the community, and hold ourselves accountable for each child in our program. Statistics show these Little Brothers and Sisters have higher aspirations, greater confidence, do better in school and avoid risky behaviors.
