A Message From Christine Esswein

January 24th, 2014 I met my little sister. Ka'Niyah and I had an immediate bond over acting goofy, arts and crafts and playing games of Uno over bowls of Skyline. When we would go out to the park she would tell other kids or friends she would see that I was her sister. There was obvious confusion on the faces of her friends because we don't look alike. But that never phased her, we are sisters, end of story. When we met she had just turned 7, but now she's 11 and getting ready for 6th grade. It has been amazing to see her grow both socially, becoming more confident in herself and academically by learning how to take notes and study. She's forever optimistic, always willing to try new things with a positive attitude and a heart of gold. I'm proud to call her my sister. This fundraiser is aimed at raising $1200, which is the cost to the agency to create and support a match for a year. I am thankful for the thorough work of the agency to match Ka'Niyah and I, they obviously know what they are doing. And while our personal connection has been effortless, there is a team of support behind us at BBBS should we need it. The money raised will do two things, give another another big and little the chance to create the life long bond of friendship and mentorship that Ka'Niyah and I are blessed with... and also send me over the edge of a tall building. I support whichever of those outcomes motivates you the most :) Thanks for the support. You are awesome.

In Support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati
We create life-changing friendships by matching adult mentors with  at-risk Tri-State children in need of positive role models.  We partner with parents and guardians, volunteers and others in the community, and hold ourselves accountable for each child in our program. Statistics show these Little Brothers and Sisters have higher aspirations, greater confidence, do better in school and avoid risky behaviors.
